Cantinho Da Ronha

(Visited 29th April 2025) I have to say this was my best meal in Faro! I walked in and saw there were lots of people there, they looked/sounded like locals to me, which was a very good sign. The gentleman handed me a menu and there were so many good options. I had the skate and garlic, which came in this stew pot and it was just wonderful. Fresh fish, lots of olive oil and garlic, herbs and potatoes. I ordered rice for my side which was fragrant too and paired very well with the soup. I was dining by myself so my tummy couldn’t allow myself to order bread, but I think that would’ve been perfect. I believe the dish can be shared amongst 2-4 people (assuming, you want to order other items as well. And I think you have to, to make the most out of this experience!) Also, the service is great here. The uncle I was chatting with was very friendly and very attentive. If it isn’t obvious, I’m still reminiscing on this dinner. If you have the chance to visit, please do so!

It’s authentic Portuguese food and like it much more than fusion fashion I just had grilled/fried octopus in a tavern but it did not taste like Portuguese so I came here then skate stewed with garlic was amazing.

This was a true local experience into Portuguese food. The food felt authentic however, in my opinion just slightly bland ( i’m south east asian so I’m used to lots of spicy flavours) but nevertheless, still delicious. Absolutely loved the atmosphere and the service was phenomenal considering we didnt know a word of portugese. Overall, worth a try if you want to ditch those overpriced tourist traps.

A year ago we went to this restaurant and I could still remember what they served us and how friendly and knowledgeable the people working there were. I still dream about the grilled fish! Unapologetically simple & traditional food but packed with flavours. We went there twice!

The food was amazing and the lager was cold and refreshing. The sea bass was seasoned well and cooked great. Staff was friendly and professional.

I stayed in Faro for 3 Night’s and had the pleasure of having dinner here 3 times! The staff were very kind and hard working. The food was delightful I asked what the waiter recommended and I was extremely impressed. The pork ribs were delicious and more than memorable, the veal was tender. The portion size was more than generous. The olives where 75 Cents and exactly what you need after a long day. Best of all the beer was cold. I’m grateful to say i’ve eaten here.

What a place to have authentic Portuguese dishes. No frills but quality is obvious! My dish was heaven in a pot!
